While I was home (Kerala, India) recently, I happened to go through my old shelves to reminisce about some items from my previous life (pre-Australia I mean).

Happened to find these two company IDs from the time period 2011–2017.

Ize Creative (2011–2017) was my start-up which started with a focus on digital marketing and later narrowed itself down to the niche of content marketing. At our peak, we were creating 300+ pages of content every month and 100% of our clients came through referrals.

I even remember a time in 2016 when I went to a business conference and when I mentioned that I was working in the field of content, someone on my table mentioned they had heard of this company called Ize Creative from Kerala, who apparently were very good in their content works.

Couldn’t have felt prouder.

Inveo Live (2013–2016) was a separate spin-off company in collaboration with Manu Krishnan’s DayScholars Innovations, which was into HD live streaming before it became cool and popular.

We were one of the first such service providers in the region at that time, at a much more affordable cost as compared to some of the bigger media companies that were active then. The cost-effectiveness and quality of service helped us land some of the biggest names in the industry at the point.

We were the big fish in a small pond.

Fast forward to today. I work as a Senior Communications Coordinator with one of the top universities in the world, in a new country, in a new environment, and new work culture. There are at least 50 other people in the organization with the same, or better, skillset + experience as mine.

Every day is new learning and I am continuously surrounded by people 100 times better & smarter than me.

I am now a small fish in a big pond.

These two IDs remind me of the time I started my entrepreneurial journey in 2011, as a small fish in a small pond. They also remind me of the time, effort, dedication, and support system needed to become a big fish.

The journey continues, and so do the learnings.

Next goal: become the big fish in the big pond.
